Whilst we can no longer meet to sing together in person, our Online Liberty Singers membership group is the place where we can keep singing together every week.
It’s just £15 a month ‘rehearsing’ on Mondays 7.30-8.30pm on zoom. We are running through our songs, learning new parts, creating virtual recordings and maintaining our community.
Online choir is joyful and uplifting and something I look forward to every week.Joy – yellow
The membership has expanded to include people from all over the country (and even international participants) as we take advantage of the benefits of singing without walls.
WHERE DO WE MEET
We meet weekly to rehearse together via zoom. On Mondays 7.30-8.30pm.
Time lags on internet communication mean that singers have to remain muted during rehearsals. We can see and hear Kari as she teaches us new songs and chat to the group via the chat box. At break time we can unmute and mingle in the break out rooms for an opportunity for a catch up with our choir buddies.
In addition, there is a private FaceBook group, which you will be invited to join once you have signed up. This is the place where announcements, chat and training videos are shared in between rehearsals.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE A REHEARSAL?
Zoom meetings are recorded and shared via the Online Liberty Singers membership section on this website. Links will also be shared in the Facebook group, so you can catch up in your own time.
BUT HOW CAN WE PERFORM?
We can’t gather in a room together and sing to a live audience (and given the geographic spread of our members, that would involve a long drive / flight for some!) but we can create a virtual performance with our recordings. For each song that we record, Kari provides (colour-coded) conducting videos for singers to follow as they record themselves.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Its £15 for a monthly subscription. This includes a weekly rehearsal via zoom, an online community space via private Facebook group, and access to rehearsal recordings. This also includes participation in virtual recordings.
THAT’S GREAT – SIGN ME UP.
We ask for your email address and the name you use on Facebook (they don’t always match!) so we can invite you into the Facebook group where the teaching takes place. As part of the sign up process, you will be asked to choose a username and password as well (or enter your existing username and password if you have already registered for a membership previously). You won’t need to log in to access the live teaching (that’s all delivered via zoom), but you may need to know your login to access the zoom recordings, if you need to catch up.
Once you have registered you will be sent a link to join our FaceBook group and will have access to exclusive content just for members.
