I had a totally lovely rehearsal – thank you all for coming along, singing so beautifully, patiently doing the balancing exercises, batting through new harmonies, eating cake and making full use of the bar!
We really focused on balancing voices and listening to what’s going on around us – this is really important for both rehearsals and performances. I feel you embraced it well – thank you.
We applied this to Everybody’s Changing and Only Yesterday – and it really made a difference. If you don’t believe me, have a listen to the recording – that’s the best chance you have of hearing what I and the audience hear.
We worked more on Yesterday – I’ll get those harmonies up.
We also worked on Pompeii. I WILL NOT put these harmonies up~ as they are awful. I will re-record them all first.
We finished with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road which was fab – it’s always fab and then….. we ended with what I thought was Green Green Grass but the marvellous Jackie Shears had re-written it and you all sang it to me. Thank you so much.
Thanks also to Jan and Anne for cake cutting, to Lucie and everyone who contributed to my gifts, for the cards, the kind words and the general feeling of love in the room.
See you on the 19th!
